چکیده
This study was carried out to determine some olive varieties' response Verticillium dahliae Kleb. widely grown in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey. In an initial the optimal development of V. isolate at different temperatures, exhibited growth 20°C. The optimum determined on four mediums. colony rate not significant all tested media. detached leaves seven varieties were assayed PDA if attracted leaf exudates leached from vitro. Detached Memecik (26.90 mm) and Kalamata (26.83 did affect diameter compared Control groups 8th day. Domat variety (31.30 resulted most PDA. A cross-section stem (0.5 cm) removed upper parts inoculation point by measuring 1, 2 3cm planted medium disease severity. displayed lowest severity with a 0.44, followed Manzanilla 0.66 other (1, 3 cm point). These results indicated that tolerant section experiments treatments. However, susceptible according

Resistance and vegetative growth analysis of some olive cultivars in response to a defoliating pathotype of Verticillium dahliae Kleb
Verticillium dahliae Kleb. the causal agent of vascular wilt is an important pathogen of olive trees in growing areas of the world. Nine-month-old nursery olives including ‘Bladi’, ‘Conservalia’, ‘Kalamon’, ‘Koroneiki’, ‘Manzanilla’, ‘Mission’, ‘Marry’, ‘Picual’, ‘Rowghani’, ‘Sevillana’ and ‘Zard’ cultivars were root-dip inoculated with a defoliating (VCG1) isolate of V. dahliae obtained from d...
متن کاملEvaluation of strawberry cultivars for resistance to Verticillium dahliae Kleb
Verticillium dahlia Kleb. is a soil-borne pathogen which causes worldwide economically important plant and yield losses. So far no resistance preventing the fungus from growing in the plants could be found in the genus Fragaria. But there are cultivars with different levels of tolerance. In particular after the ban on chemical control with effective soil disinfectants (methylbromid) cultivation...
متن کاملStarch Hydrolysis and Vessel Occlusion Related to Wilt Symptoms in Olive Stems of Susceptible Cultivars Infected by Verticillium dahliae
This study investigated starch content, amount of pathogen DNA and density of occluded vessels in healthy and Verticillium dahliae infected olive shoots and stems. Starch hydrolysis is considered a mechanism to refill xylem vessels that suffered cavitation by either, drought conditions or pathogen infections. The main objective of this work was to evaluate this mechanism in olive plants subject...
متن کاملSoil Temperature Determines the Reaction of Olive Cultivars to Verticillium dahliae Pathotypes
BACKGROUND Development of Verticillium wilt in olive, caused by the soil-borne fungus Verticillium dahliae, can be influenced by biotic and environmental factors. In this study we modeled i) the combined effects of biotic factors (i.e., pathotype virulence and cultivar susceptibility) and abiotic factors (i.e., soil temperature) on disease development and ii) the relationship between disease se...
متن کاملinvestigation of the reaction of olive cultivars to defoliate and non-defoliate isolates of verticillium dahliae kleb. in golestan province
abstract verticillium wilt of olive caused by verticillium dahliae is one of the main constraints to olive production in golestan province. in this research, two defoliating and two non-defoliating isolates of the fungus were inoculated in 16-18 months-old olive seedlings. the seedlings consisted of concervolia, cronaiki, kalamon, zard-roghani, bladi, mission, manzanilla and sevillana. the seed...
